This phono preamplifier uses 3 gain stages and passive RIAA equalization. The input stage is 6GM8 triode that is directly coupled to a single very low noise NPN transistor. The output of the transistor stage is transformer coupled to the passive RIAA equalization and feed to the output triode. The use of the transistor driven transformer interstage allows correct phase and consistent impedance driving the passive RIAA stage.

Level Preamplifier with Battery B+,
With 3 inputs and a set of outputs the new Sine runs the B+ batteries. That's right this preamp is one of the quietest units made. Different from others the batteries do not use Solid State DC to DC convertors but a straight string of batteries, for low impedance and noise. Sine gain is 10dB with a maximum output of 5VAC from 5-50KHz -1dB, output transformer coupled impedance of 500 ohms.
